i just bought a 2000 excursion. it has a keyless entry pad on the drivers door. I do not have the code to unlock the door. is the code hidden anywhere inside the car? any help would be helpful.

Look on the inside of the vehicle jack compartment cover or on one of the rear hinges. If it isn't there looks like you will be making a trip to Ford so they can get it from the computer.

Could just start hitting buttons randomly until it opens. I did that on my buddy's F-150 for a while and got it to open. Did it enough times to narrow it down and figured out the code completely.

You could but, some of the new vehicles figure that as a supposed theft and lock everything out.

He said he got a 2000 Excursion and this F-150 was a 2002 and no anti-theft ever tripped. But ya I'm sure that's true on something built in the last few years.

I wasn't disagreeing with you. Some of the vehicles are different in the way they are programmed.

If anything the Excursion would probably be simipler than the F-150 since it is both older and based on a Super Duty.

I think my F-150 has the code on a card in the owners manual. I don't have keyless entry though so I have never used it.
