If your cigarette lighter is always on, you can get it there, should be on a 20A fuse.

I've heard the battery is a good spot, but you need longer leads for your multimeter.....

I mis-understood. I thought you were looking to test your battery voltage with the KO

First place I like to look is unused spaces in the fuse block. Sometimes you find one for an uninstalled accessory that actually has the contacts in the fuse block ready to re-appropriate for your purpose.

Fuse box has several fuses that are key on, RUN only or RUN and ACC(like the radio)

Get out the 12v test light(volt meter) and test which fuse have 12v in the manner you want

Then pull out that fuse and test which terminal has the 12v with key on

Then use an "add-a-fuse", google it, to get your power

Add a fuse plugs into your fuse box and has TWO fuse holders, one for current fuse and one for the new fuse with new wire

If you just splice in to say the Radio 12v wire then its more than likely when you are using the "new device" it will blow the radio fuse over time
So no "new device" and no radio, lol

A fuse splice was my next idea if I couldn’t find any blank ports. Wish it had somewhere just hanging like a super duty with Aux switches.. I’ll be probe out the panel to verify. I have plenty of mini splices guess I’ll be ordering some standard ones..

You can buy a $10 12volt relay w/base and splice it into any 12v key on wire, relays only require 0.5amp to activate so won't cause an issue with the circuit

Then use the cigar lighter's full time, 20amp, circuit to power the "new device" via the relay
