So I was starting my '94 Ranger this morning and the key broke off in the ignition. Not a good morning.

Can I temporarily take it apart so I can start it with a screwdriver?

What tools are needed to do so?

Need a tool list and instructions to pull an ignition from a truck at the junkyard, asap.

Thank you.

Thanks for the quick reply, I was in panic mode.

So I took the covers off the column. Then I popped off the silver ring on the end of the ignition and used a pick to remove the broken key. I used my other key and it started just fine.

So its all good temporarily. However if I want to replace the ignition cylinder in the future, I am not sure how to remove it. Mine does not have the retaining pin on the bottom that I would need to push to remove the lock cylinder. Ive read on hear about others who said theirs does not have the retaining pin either, so if this is a different design, anyone know how to remove it?

I've never seen one without the pin. Look closer.

is it tilt wheel? hole for pin is in the gap between wheel and column sort of at an angle toward bottom
