I'm no audio genius, nor do I play one on TV, so here goes my situ...
I have an 02 Ranger and bought a Kenwood replacement unit so I could control my Iphone and direct connect my SkyFi2 XM unit; instead of using the ghetto FM modulator connection. Used the Crutchfield supplied harness to install. Still factory speakers though... open to options or suggestions, but I digress.
When using the aux input for my XM receiver, at certain volumes it always statics out. I can go up on level or down one level everything is fine, but at volume levels 9, 16, 19 and 22 (haven't gone any higher), I get a lot of speaker cackle, mainly from my rear speakers. Its livable, but very annoying.
Any ideas on wher to start to hunt this down?
Thanks,
Z.
