just wrecked the ranger!!PISS!

i see well what is the blue book loan value on your truck? if the repair bill is more than 70% they total it. i kno i work at a motorcycle/atv shop see it all the time. hopefuly all goes well for you idk to what extent you are going to take it but best of luck.

Don't let 'em bend you over with the KBB values on your truck... they insure you with the Kelly GOLD Book, therefore, they give you the insurance to cover your truck up to the value stated in the Kelly Gold book, but if/when it gets wrecked, they flip on over to to the Kelly BLUE Book and say "Ohhhh... rats... too bad for you, it's totaled. Better luck next time!" At least, that's how they do it up here. Look into that, 'cause if you can tell 'em how it is, they'll know you're not just an average bear. =P

actually they dont even use kelly blue or gold book because the values are inflated. they use consumer base nada guides, businesses use nada as well.

WEll, up here I've seen them pull out the ol' Gold or Blue book at the insurance places... so I dunno what to believe anymore! Haha.

naa...i just totalled everything up in the truck..inclunung everything and anything that has been replaced sincie i bout it...3 monthhs ago....oh and kbb.. on it it "good" 1850 and "excellent" was 2150...it was in pristine shape and working order soo if they wanna just try and give me what it was worth low ball crap...which is when they look up the base model ranger on fair condition..and say oh well we r gunna give you 800 bucks, sorry......no, that dog wont hunt.and after ive totalled up everything ive put into it to get if fixed and or ready for winter driving..going by the "GOOD" value and up from there it totalled up to $3320..that includes a new rear window, 2 new tires, new plugs, oil change, including tranny and rear end, a grease over, new belts, new starter, new heater core, new battery, new head unit and a 10 in woffer i already had(not included)....

So i plan on settling for no less than 3k..that will give me enough to put down on a newer one, or find an old 300zx tt!! that i could go kill myself in!!!

depends on the place i suppose. down here the motorcycle dealers ive worked for (didnt get to see what rusty did in pa but i kno in fla they pulled nada) and every time we asked the bank and insurance companies they all said they used nada. i even look up values online at nada.com when looking for something used or if i want to know what the original msrp was as it is listed on there. nada bases theirs below the original msrp as anything that has any wear is worth less than brand new price. kelly blue book does more of auction prices and gives you more money for accessories than nada. gold book ive only seen once or twice but ive seen some values in there on 5 and 6 yr old vehicles that are higher than the original purchase price, not cuz they were rare limited edition models either, just plain jane cars with an inflated price tag. that may be what they use where your at idk, but when the value is pulled look it up and ask what standard they went with and then base your decision.

he;; even the NADA site refers it as low/rough TRADE IN value of 1500-CLEAN trade in value of 2800 and clean retail....if you were to buy it from a dealer...over 3500!!!!

i dont know...but i do know that the mileage on that truck was under 85k,no rebuld, mostly stock everything, still had all the check up receipts when i bought it..the mileage is what makes that truck worth so much...put it up in the 150k range like most other vehicles of that year..and the value would be in the low 2k from a dealer!!....

but i know that i paid 1600 for the truck, it was broken into so i had to spend over 800 bucks getting it road worthy again. plus everything i had in it that i installed myself...

see i could hook the damn thing to a tree and put a torch on the frame rails and chain the ****in thing straight enough to put a new bumper on it, i could go to the junk yard and get a new front clip for it(which it will most likely have to have, as the dog house is bent to shreds) it took myself and my brother pulling up as hard as we could to get the hood up(and we arent you average skinny white boy either,no, both played highschool football and are still active in sports, plus i work out on the side and can exert over 600 pound of force going up!!)the dog house was pushed so far back that the radiator was about a 1/4 inch away from the fan, i had to break the shroud and turn the fan around just to be sure it would clear...so a new front clip is in order...anybody know how much one will cost me and how much of a pain its gunna be....i mean it seems to drive straight and with a new rad i could move it where ever i please...so i dont see how the insurance will total it out...i mean it really seems to just be cosemetic plus a little frame work...im not sure how much any body shop is going to charge to fix it but i know it will have to be done by a shop who has a frame puller...i dont want bondo or any knock off crap that wont look right after, i want stock oem shit!!and if they are kind enough and dont try to F U C K me over thats what im goin to get......idk....we will just have to wait and see...should be about a week or so till i get the policia reporto....which will be forewarded to my insurance and then passed along to her insurance along with all my photos and estimate from a shop....then they can evaluate the damage and asses weather they wany to screw me over.......im goin to limp it to a few shops around town today and get some estimates..then limp her home...and just wait....

i hate to tell you this but when you mention "straiten frame" its almost instant total. most ppl wont even bolt the truck up to the frame machine for less than 1500. most insurance companies will also say its a liability since the frame is already bent and weakened it would have to be a new frame or play hell getting insurance as nobody wants to insure a truck with a stability issue. my dads 03 f150 when it was rear ended in 07 bent the framerails they totaled it, he bought it back and had them straightened new bed new suspension and his insurance doubled.

yeah...just got back from the local body shop....guy said that a 2001 ranger with that kind of damaged would be totalled without even looking at it.......so i know they r going to screw me, but ive decided in my head not to settle for anything less than 2500...and im keepin the damn thing...i dont care if it has to have a salvage title or not, im keepin the muther fu ck er!!

well if you have a welder and some patience build you a tube chassis for your driveline and mount another body to it...where the frame is bent and all just trellis it in with rollbar grade material, just a thought...

well...i ran thru some of the j-yards around here, found the same year truck(91)..it has the 2.9 straight/auto tranny, red in color, with no front end damage..they gave me a price of 5 or 600 for...the whole doghouse, including the hood, both fenders, radiator mount, grille, lights, bumper, and a passenger door...not bad really all it would need is a paint job, just depends on how how the insurance co. gives me for it...ive found a bunch of mustangs and nissan 300zx's around here on craigslist for 2-4 thousand..so well see..
