Just Seafoamed my Ranger

This may be a n00b question, but what is Seafoam & how does it help make the engine smoother?

Please enlighten me.

Seafoam is an engine treatment made from real foam skimed from the Gulf of Mexico. The stuff is flamable as all hell so be careful. I do belive it is a BP product as well.

what do you think they do with all the gunk they clean off all the animals???? SEAFOAM!!!

well i know it does work but a word or caution about putting it in an extremely dirty engine that could massive deposits of sludge or carbon as that stuff will wash it out and break it loose and if the pieces are big enough or get in the right place bad things could happen. I know of a couple of motors that have blown up because of a very large carbon deposits getting knocked loose. still great stuff tho.

so maybe if you have a real rough engine, you should put just a little bit in? so that there isn't enough of a concentration to dissolve too much at one time?
