Hey everyone.
The name's Austin, :D
I hail from Mississauga, Ontario.
I'm glad to have the chance to join the forums. It seems like an awesome community so far. Anyways, I just picked up a '08 supercab sport 4x4 last week! I've wanted a ranger ever since I got my G1 so you can imagine how excited I was to finally acquire one.
Here she is:

Any suggestions/tips/advice on what i should do first mod-wise?
I'm getting it rust proofed first, and then I have to change the left axle seal on the front diff, as it's leaking. Otherwise it's pretty good.

Welcome nice truck! What is the car in the background? im liking it! i haz 350Z

What kind of mods are you thinking about? Congrats on the purchase

Bummer! He beat me to tinted lights and OHC... Brighter headlamps, maybe some offroad lights thrown on there? I got some halo projector fog lamps for mine for around $100. I'll throw some pics up later if you're interested in seeing what they look like.

Nice truck! Welcome to the forums, this is definitely the best source for info on RBVs.

Is that a 300z in the background? I used to have a 300, absolutely loved that car. Every mile I drove in it was a joy, and I miss it every day...maybe if it was as solid as my b2 id still have it. :icon_rofl:

The truck look good !
Color is a stand out !

My first suggestion is search through the ranger builds.
Second would be to search through the How-To threads.

Now if you have done that start with easy stuff, based on your abilities.
LEDs in the Dash, in the tails, Third Brake light.
OHC is nice be careful not to cut too much out, start with a lot smaller hole than you actually need, trim out to fit.
Bucket Seats if you have a 60/40 or need a new seat.
Center Console once the buckets are in.
Interior Light Change.. maybe just LEDs or some do a Mustang Light.

Then there is a lift, maybe larger tires to go along with the lift and then re-gear to compensate for the larger tires.
While you are at it a posi unit, watch the lockers, the back ends of the trucks are ligth and a locker may cause you problems with sliding, unless you use a switchable locker.

New wheels to go along with the new tires and lift, that is if you don’t like what you have.
New bumpers… and the list goes on.

It will mainly depend on what YOU want YOUR truck to look like.

Again, start small, think about what you want before just doing it.

Thanks for the replies and warm welcome guys! You're all very helpful compared to a lot of forums :P
I think I'll go definitely start with the small stuff as I'm still a beginner and am learning along the way. :icon_welder:
Probably start by swapping out that 60/40 bench (it has a cigarette burn anyways), and throwing in the Exploder OHC, LED Dash lights and that good interior stuff to keep me busy. On the other hand, I can't decide on wether I should get a tonneau cover or a cap though.

My must haves way down the road though, are a minor suspension lift, bigger tires, a winch/grille guard/offroad lights and a hitch, along with possibly -depending on how it holds up-, a manual locker.

Also, for y'all that were interested, the car in the back is a 3000GT! :D
My dad and I have owned it for about a decade now, and contrary to popular belief has been pretty reliable.

I'd like to see those photos though, Rangurr!

Welcome!

Id do window tint, cb, smoke the tails amd corners, and some good tires.

Little late, but welcome to the forums. Nice truck you have there, if you don't mind my asking what's that color called. I like it and might use it on the 86 I'm building.

I almost bought one of those a few years ago, well it was the dodge version but same basic car. I passed on it because it was 2wd and IMO priced a little high. If it had been an AWD I'd probably have jumped on it.

That'll be added to my short list of blues. The only other one that's a definite on there at the moment is the Kona Blue from the Mustangs.

I'll be doing a two tone with a bright silver metallic and either a medium gray metallic or dark blue metallic. gray/silver/gray or blue/silver/blue
