Just saying

yea i am when i get the 10 bucks.... im a little broke, unemployed at the time and my ex gf took me to the cleaners

How does a girlfriend take you to the cleaners? You have no binding contracts or paperwork to go through, do you?

Anyways, good opinions said.

OP, as far as becoming more modernized, theis site had a facelift a couple years back, and I like it. I'm on a 2 Mustang sites, 2 other Ranger sites, and 2 Porsche websites as well, but TRS is the home I keep coming back to.

IMO, Ranger-Forums is filling up with more teenager kids that want quick answers, and are too immature & judgemental about things they have yet to experience. TRS is established, more mature as a whole, and contains waaaaaaaay more knowledge and experienced users than any other RBV site (even after a couple users of notable and smart reputation went on hiatus). I thought that way when I was 19, and I still think that way at 28.

There are some broken links, but I always forget to pass them on. The reason the links are broken is not because it's old or unkept, but the site has been hacked a couple times and server issues were a dilemma of the past which led to broken pages not found. The new layout is more stable, modern, quicker, and organized for all to access.

The frills around the edges I can do without, and the crap between posts on the page is bullshit and makes me not want to continue. However, THAT is how that forum stays afloat, through advertisements. TRS recently added advertising banners as a buffer from the Premium memberships, and the selling of TRS merchandise.

As far as it being '90-ish, were you even web browsing in the 90's? Probably not, since you surely don't remember how most of those pages were formatted.

The format is very modern, and just not cluttered and filled with bullshit like you are used to seeing at other websites. Perhaps, if you don't like it, then fvck off.

...I'm just sayin', Bro...

Oh, your truck looks a little '80-ish...

Respecting your elders I see kiddo.:icon_thumby:

I've yet to experience any broken links, and as for the "90s look", well.....retro is the "in thing" these days.

I like it. I know where the things are that I frequent, so I don't have to wander about aimlessly.

It would be like going to Sears after they remodel the tool section.......nothing's where I left it the last time I was here.......

Don't act like you wouldn't like an excuse to wander around sears even longer

Don't give all the secret excuses away, ok? :icon_rofl:

I used that one at Northern a few weeks ago, due to a remodel......

Ha. Well, I've been around here for about 9 years, and lurking for a few more months. I think I'm getting to the point of "take me as I am, along with my favorite website."

Don't act like you wouldn't like an excuse to wander around sears even longer

Right! We all do it, even when we don't need tools.

My '92 is the newest vehicle I've ever owned.......

the newest vehicle i ever owned was an '86....but that was in '88.i guess that would be an antique now.

If you know of broken links then list them here so I can fix them.

TRS is to big to overhaul. Most automotive sites are simply a forum. We have a crap load of web pages here that I've started updating in the past few months (the latest updates have a black background around the edge of the page). To do a total overhaul would require completely re-doing all those html pages.

The Tech Library has over 275 pages. It's made up of 4,023 files and 59 folders.

The online magazine is 6,832 files and 362 folders.

Plus there is the resource section and galleries.

To do a total rebuild of the site is an overwhelming thought.

This site right now is like a square body fullsize Ford... easy to look at, has clear lines and parts are easy to find... A new site would be like an ugly ass brand new Superduty... curvier than crap, hard to navigate, and finding parts requires removing a ton of pages just to get to the one you're looking for.

If people don't like it, too bad...
