waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

lawn tractor broke....ended up workin on it all day.....maybe I oughta do a VVVVVVVVVVVVVVV-6 swap on it.........

RE-EDIT: didn't get started on the winch(remote controlled hoist) for the bed on the '36....had to go outta towm Sunday....but my wittle brain is devising a plan to mount everything...heavy-wall 2" x 2" square tubing with a plate welded on each end/drilled & tapped....paint the tubing to match the truck....bolt it to the front wall of the bed under the wall lip....mount the winch on the square tubing.....done!

now to get it did.........................................this week.............definately............probably.

Hardware store here i come........while I'm picking up stuff to do the winch-bracket.....might as well make a speaker-box/stash box (see'ins how I mounted the radio where the glove comp. shold be) to fit behind the seats for the new bump-bump---ba-bump......:icon_rofl:

EFIT: I GOT THE SPEAKER box finish & temporaroluy set behind the seats....pics tomorrer...tooooo tirod to post em tomite.....

view behind passenger's seat...................................notice part of the stash-bin on the right side of the box..........

100_3755.jpg

view from the driver's side...........(the stash bin is not visible, but it measures 1' x 1' x 1'....good for spare oil/xmsn fluid/brake fluid/electric tape/fuses/flaslight/spare serpentine belt/paper towels/glass cleaner/fire extinguisher.........

100_3757.jpg

the box is plain.....3/8" plywood 48" long by 1 foot high by 11" deep...............the speakers are nothing fancy......two 10" woofers......two 6 x 9 s............a 200 watt amp.....the truck only sits 2 people.....so it basically sounds/feels like your inside a big set of headphones......now I gotta install the lid so I can put suitcases or camping gear or groceries behind the seats......................................waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahhahahahahahaaaa

now.........what was I going to do ........oh yeaaaa.....the brace/winch for the motorcycle !!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE:
Nothing got done on the winch......was sicker than 2 dogs last night......probably just the AGENT ORANGE acting up again..........

RE-UPDATE: Spent the day-Friday- at the V.A. hospital.............the V.A. said it WAS NOT the Agent Orange flaring up..........but they don't know what it WAS WAS.......

RE-EDIT: had to downgrade the winch mod.............ended up installing defroster vents in the dash of the '36 all day today-Saturday-(had to cut slots & everything).....got tired of running off the road trying to wipe the inside fog off the windshield in a blinding thunderstorm with 18 wheeler road-spray hiding the white lines...:icon_surprised:

THE WINCH MODIFICATION

Getting an angle off the bed.......

100_3767.jpg

Transferring the angle to the 2" square tubing......

100_3768.jpg

One end of the tubing is cut........

100_3770.jpg

The other end is cut from the 8' tube...I even managed to match the cuts...

100_3774.jpg

The bar is in place and ready to be drilled for the bolts........

100_3777.jpg

All the mounting bolts have been drilled...the bar is bolted to the bed....the winch is temporarily mounted to the bar.....

100_3780.jpg

If this Loo-z-anna weather clears up for 24 hrs.....I'll paint the mounting bar & the winch........:icon_bounceblue:

Well......finally got back to the winch mod...the winch motor has lost it's camoflauge paint........

100_3782.jpg

the 2" square tubing has some color too.......................

100_3783.jpg

here it is assembled.........................wiring needs to be run which means a trip to the auto parts store for a quick-disconnect for the winch...

100_3785.jpg

pics later when the wiring is finished........maybe the weather will be good enuff to winch the Harley onto/into the bed.............

the quick disconnect wiring is finished & I used the remote control to roll out the cable/roll it back in......

100_3786.jpg

I'll be able to connect the cable eye to the Harley swingarm--I'll sit on the bike & use the remote to pull the bike onto the bed of the truck as I guide it up the ramp......MAYBE TOMORROW !?!?!?!?!?!

FRIDAY UPDATE: The winch had to be turned 90* to get the cable to wind up without piling up in one spot....Now it works like it's supposed to...

Here's the Harley with the winch cable attached to the swingarm..........

100_3787.jpg

(I couldn't take pics & ride the bike up the ramp at the same time.....so the next pic is the bike loaded onto the bed........

100_3788.jpg

I'll air up the rear shocks tomorrow & level the truck..........:yahoo:
