Just Plain Stupied

if they had 4 wheel air shocks in '89, that's wut it handle like.....now to yank the pan off'n the slushbox one more time & replace that last pressure switch I was too cheep to replace the 4th time I took the xmsn(transmission, Mr. Honduras) pan off.....

good news is.....I can jack it up on all fours & have the pan off in 8 minutes....I'ma try for 7 min. this time..........trick is to put the drain pan under it & remove the xmsn pan drain plug first......then jack/remove xmsn bolts while fli...fuli.....fluid is draining.....the other trick is "do it rite the 1st time Stupied!"

I might have missed it but whats the story behing this engine and tranny meaning where did you get it from and why did you have it just sitting around?

r u talkin about the XMSN ???????????????????

XMSN is an old school abbreviation for transmission....

It's kinda like XMAS....the X means whatever the person who created the abbreviation wants it to mean.....wierd, huh !

XBOW........could mean transbow.........or x-bow.....or cross-bow....or fire one XBOW (fire a round across the bow of the enemy ship to make them drop anchor)....

anyhow....I went and got half a truck-load of mulch in the '36'/'89......you should have seen the guys cringe when I told them to put it in the bed of the lil Ranger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I worked at Lowes we had a guy with a restored yellow 50s-ish truck come in and buy a fridge and take it home in the back. I didn't know much about trucks back then but I do remember it had wood for the bottom of the bed. I've seen guys take better care of their 10 year old XL trim F150s.

Do you have the interior all buttoned together yet DG? Doth ye hath any pics?

M M .......I almost started working on the interior panels today...I dragged them out of the cob-webs and everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I willlllllllll take pics when I start fitting the panels.....I'll probably get Mad Man Marks to cover them with headliner material to match the grey seats.....

Awesome, looking forward to it!:icon_thumby:

I was asking like why did you have a chevy engine and tranny just laying around for?

And then you'll get matching color cupholder?

M M ........thanks!

danger- ........I needed an engine hoist.....my friend Jeremy said if I bought the hoist that I had to take the engine since he didn't need them.....so I took the engine to rebuild so when I bought a used speedboat with no engine I would have an engine ready to drop in the boat.....but Jeremy said if I took the engine----I had to take the xmsn also because he was emptying out his storage-rental since he wouldn't need it any more if I bought the hoist & took all the drivetrain stuff too.....

at least that's what he told me.....so I found a speedboat with a blowed up motor....but the people never had the registration transferred into their name....so I'm waiting on them to do the paperwork....in the meantime, I'm going to put 3 one-barrels on the 2.9L & do away with the wore out computer management system....

I get it now.

But something about the 2.9 just popped up in my head, how will you advance the timing on the 2.9 without the computer system?

Distributor weights, just like the good old days!

Would the 2.9 have enough jam to move the boat around?

OMG where almost to post 2000, hurry on the truck DG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Distributor weights, just like the good old days! having a machinist background, I wuz gonna adapt the bottom end of the computer disty shaft to an older disty top end

Would the 2.9 have enough jam to move the boat around?

I'll try to get a pic of the boat...I think its about 12' long & 5' wide....V-hull...2 seater(can be modified to seat 4 people....back to back).....originally had a squirt-box behind a 302 engine.....
