sounds like either the o2 sensor is bad, or you have something wired weird.

im not familiar with the ALMIGHTY 2.9

ohh, what does the tempurature gauge read?? and does it run better when its cold as opposed to when its warm.

might be a bad tempurature sensor. the engine could be staying in closed loop and nver go to open loop. this will cause it to run rich, not idle right when hot, and smoke on acceleration.

SBC = VVVVRRRRROOOOMMMM (wheels screech and burn out into the next gear) VRRRROOOOMMMMM

2.9 = cough choke die restart and repeat

Imagine what the SBC would sound like breathing through those Harley mufflers.

Shake-down cruise.....

150 miles round trip......

Average speed 60mph....

Max. speed 85mph..(man...this truk rides smooth/gotta watch the speedom.)

Engine temp. 180*-190*

Oil Press. 40# @ 60mph

Tach 2200rpm @ 60mph in O.D.

" 2800 rpm @ 60mph O.D. off

Volts 13.5v

Fuel 12 mpg (I gotta find out why it's runnin so rich/It got 24 mpg previously)

Note: I found my 13mm box end wrench.....after about 75 miles it worked it's way out of the frame & bounced down the street when i pulled into a small town to see what was rattling under the cab.....LOL

Question(again): why ain't my computer letting me read the codes with my $39 reader????...I cleaned the pins & connectors/checked all the ground wires at the connectors....it still won't let me do the test lite thing either!!!!!!!!!
