HMMMMMMM the cedar chest sitting in my living room has a real nice set of those do-ma-flickeys! maybe could find a pretty set at local hardware store (not so much the depot but more like ace or other smaller place)

Whatever the case, Gunner I am envious of your truck and could only wish my BEETLE project was that far along.

So....I tried the old school chain on the tailgate instead of dog-leg hinges. I liked the look, BUT!
The Cheap-o Zinc-plated chains didn't look good and they wanted two arms and a leg for chrome-plated chain..........so.........

O.K.................change of plans.........I ended up buying a pair of black kitti..........errrrr.......ahhhh.......cables.....

Will show pics of the kitt.....errrr....ahhh.....cables to-nite.......

EDIT: Just so happens that Auto Zone carries a set of cables for a '36 Ranger (+ some sawing, hammering, grinding, drilling, bending ) One hinge is now did..................

Now....I gotta go finish the touch-up job......do the other hinge.....clean up the metal shavings.....& feed the kitt....err....ahhhh.....alligator......
