Just Plain Stupied

Yea, the old growth Cypress did last. But most of the stuff being cut today lasts no longer than untreated pine. It's all young stuff (realitively speakin) If it's red tinged heartwood, it'll hold up. What's it with dogs and UPS trucks ? Every dog I've had hates their trucks.

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.......these are little bitty girlie-dogs that my wife has.....when the UPS man pulls up---they sound like they got rabies.....then they try to lick him to death when I open the front door....

as for the red cypress....a small town lunber company went out of business about 40 years ago....the owner left the red cypress standing in upright stacks....finally about 5 years ago, somebody got the lumber....out of the forest that had grown up around it....he's probably a millionaire today...LOL

Man........those cruising gears are screaming to be installed in the rear end.....but i'm picking up seals/bearings/shims/gear oil/etc as I go along....i'll have enough points saved up at AutoZone to get a set of free Timken bearings by this Monday.....

yep.....i know......buy only name brand stuff from autozone.....not the chinese stuff !!!!!!!

Dg it looks warm, il be down shortly

never....EVER.....drive down a side-street in New Orleans at nite with a loose screw!...the pot-holes are a foot deep.......

Surprised you still have your bumper! :D

It's a good deal if you think about it, esp when you're buying oil & filter on sale from them. I have two AZs within less than 5 minutes away, I always break down the stuff I buy from them as close to $20 as possible and go between locations. Got 2 free points in the mail (takes 4 weeks), and you get a bonus point if you sign up online. But usually do go though different stores/sites for more "fragile" or critical stuff.

Can't go wrong with Timken, in fact most of the bearings you would come buy from me have Timken stamped on the cone or race.

10-fo guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

32? It was 20*F here last Thursday mornin, we've had 3-4 days it was in the 20's so far up here. Old lumber ? Take a ride up to Forest Hill,(exit 66 on I-49) go 8 miles, turn right just before the tracks and go about 4 miles south. You'll run across a little place called Longleaf La. There's a complete 1906 sawmill there, now a Museum. Three steam locomotives, two railroad log loaders that sit on the tracks, one 4 drum rail mounted skidder, a complete locomotive shop (belt fed) several miles of the tracks are still there with trees growing thru the rails. The road south from Forest Hill crosses two of these tracks and parallels them for a 1/2 mile, complete with log car trucks and a locomotive tender in the weeds, but gotta look close to spot it all. Oh, and the lumber ? There's a whole warehouse full of longleaf pine there too that's been there since before the mill shut down in 1969.

baddad....20*s....get outta here...them yankees run around in their swimmin suits at 20*.....that saw mill/rairoad would make for some gooood piture takin!

meanwhile......i'm gettin back in the groove slowly......been piddlin with the Ranger heater hookups......stupied place to put a radio, but my wittle hand fits thru the opening just right to connect the heater hoses to the Vintage Air unit......

STREETROD008-2.jpg

thennnnnnnnnnnnn......i gots to connect to the fittin on top of the water pump.......whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy do the alsways put that tapped hole wher it points straight at the engine & you got 1& 1/2" to make a 4" bend in the heater hose so that it pinches the hose in half real nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well........no advances on the above mods..........my wife broke her left-front paw........and we've spent the last two days at hospitals/doctors offices....looks like surgery & some steel re-enforcement......my daughter had to have the same thing done to her dog---same paw & everything!!

Wow, that has to suck. So how long 'til the missus and the pup can shake paws again?

Hah ! Missed ya. But I was a tryin. Stopped in the USPS in Port Sulphur on the way back out to ship two packages. I see why they're going broke. Dumb employees for one. I had one priority mail (small) flat rate box and instead of using the medium box, which was twice too big for what I was shipping, I instead packed it in a "Just right" sized box, which was half the size of the medium box, but according to the USPS website, still used the medium P/M rate. Well the dumbs--t behind the counter wanted to charge me $16 instead of the flat rate of $10.95 just because it wasn't in a flat rate box. So, I grabbbed a medium flat rate box, folded it, tossed my box (which was half the size of the medium box) in and told her to charge me the flat rate (for a box twice the size of mine) The I had to listen to her babble on about the virtues of using the flat rate boxes til she handed me the receipt. It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut and not call her an idiot.
