Not supposed to stop raining until wednesday.... according to the forecasts...

I did it, I read all the posts from page 1, post 1. Man did that take a long time

Not only do I love the truck, but I love this thread. If I ever get to New Orleans I am want to stop by and see this truck. If your son was as much of a car guys as you are he would have loved this truck. :icon_thumby:

If this truck really is a daily driver, you need cup holders. I think they need to be put pretty high on the list. You don't want to mess up a snazzy looking interior or your white/gray bucket seats because you spilled your mountain dew :D

But then>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>:3gears:

Just got back from the PikaPart between rainstorms.....aint nothin like gettin $70 worth of stuff for $10...xmsn dipstik gets shortened 10" so it won't stick above carburator.....

& torque converter lo-vac switch...I woulda done some christmas shopping but the mud was too deep in most places...good news is the gators move a lot slower when it's cold (65* Waaaaaa)....

I found a dry spot on the highway & accidently caught 2nd gear rubber leaving Sonic.....had to let off the gas b4 i hit a wet spot......Waaaaa!

Louisiana raindrops.....the size of marbles....the round gold light above the cab is a streetlight....the bright light in the top=right corner of the pic..........I have no idea what it is!!!!!!!!!!
Streetrod (352).JPG

EDIT: I thought my camera was broke when I saw the picture of the raindrops....then I found this ....."Thomas Koop/Bielefeld University, Germany......raindrops are not tear-shaped (smaller on top) as they fall....they are spherical"

I've got 300 miles on the V8 as of today...haven't been able to drop the hammer yet...(other than accidentally barking the BFG's when it hit 2nd gear the other day)..it's still raining so I won't be doing any wheelies anytime soon....:icon_rofl:

I've got a low vacuum switch ordered...so I'll just hot-wire the T/C lock-out on the xmsn for highway driving until it arrives....(no wonder I was turning 4,000 rpm at 80mph the other day....ahhh....V.A. meds...mind-numbing....:icon_confused:)

just glad i didn't blow the xmsn up!!!!!!!!!!!:icon_surprised:

It was raining and the hood was off the truck getting the nice engine wet and nasty????

unless you have the new electronic trans. not having that switch hooked up is no big deal.

mine is the older style and i ran it for years without it hooked up.

it's.........eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-lectric
i found a site that showed me how to re-wire the valve-body so that the T/C locks up in 3rd & 4th........& unlocks when you stomp on the pedal or hit the brakes or...or......i forgot.

yep....but i put both of em back on but...i don't have the 2 hood latches re-adjusted yet since i put it back together (again)

so........when i go faster than 60mph into a crosswind...........the hood sides raise up & down like the truk is tryin to fly......and no......it's not the meds......(at least.....i don't Think it's the meds)

SORTA LIKE THIS SAMPLE PIC ....IMAGINE LOOKING FROM THE DRIVER;S SEAT AND SEEING BOTH HOOD RAISE UP !
now I gotta go fix all the
