metal around the magnet....was it enuff to clog your paint gun or would it make a good fine metal-flake? enough to clog a bed liner gun


was the water drinkable...or was it jus good to bathe in ?it was new york city hot dog stand water.

did it smell burnt like Loo-z-anna brown gravy...orstinkey-bad like chicken-grease at a cheap fried chicken stand ? smelled like bad grease at taco bell.

well, after some inspection. its the front pump that went.

turns out. thats the part that the guy replaced, and just bench checked the rest of the trans, and resealed it.

he didnt do a full rebuild like i thought. so he probably put a pos pump in it.

makes sence now

Thats why Im always sketchy about rebuilt auto trannys. The last one we got has held up so far for over 180,000 miles in our Astro van, sitting behind a 4.3 liter. But we paid 1300 for it years ago and that includes overdrive.

Nothing like victory and then something kicking you in the cubes and stopping you.

Yep, I it sucks. But the new tranny I'm getting has a 90 day warranty and supposedly only has 5,000 since a full rebuild.

So il do a fluid and filter flush. Put it in. Set the cable and take it to my trans guy and let him fine tune it.

Sorry man, I mean that I love how sharp the truck is and how clean the swap is. The workmanship is fantastic. But I'm still not a fan of the Chevy in a Ford deal. So yeah, its a compliment bro. Sick job! Love the colour of the engine.

The Ford in a dime comment just meant that the project made me think of dropping a SBF in a bowtie. Didn't mean to cause offense or confusion gentlemen haha.

no pics till i get the new tranny. the truck is still movable so im not gonna drop the pan till im ready to pull the trans. might be a week or two. gotta get the funds together.

hey its all good man. my truck isnt everyones cup of tea, but hey, as long as i like it, im good. def. turned some heads driving it.

a silverado tried acting cool. heard me go by and the look on his face was priceless.

def. can tell the sound of a 350 going by.

so, the trucks dead, trans wont go into any gear.

so im getting the new tranny next week.

gonna swap that out, then im looking into getting a new holley 600cfm carb, cause i get a discount at advance auto parts, and there on sale for 269.00 right now.

my edelbrock was giving me some trouble, it was coughing and spitting alot the night the trans went, and ive already rebuilt it once,

then im gonna get a new throttle cable, i modified it to fit, but its tight, and sometimes the engine rocking moves the gas pedal.

so ill do all that, and get some decent meats for the rear.

and i think i found the problem in the trans, other than a sucky rebuilder,

theres a plug on the back of the tranny to lock up the converter when it goes into overdrive, well i didnt have that hooked up, and it shifted fine, but i guess i caused a little more heat, and the cheap front pump just burned up from the extra horses.

well, now i know for next time.
