I just picked up a set of 265/75R15 Wintercat SST's for my new truck from work today. Got an awesome deal on them too! 93$ Bucks a tire! Gotta love employee discounts! :D And the fact that I can mount and Balance them for free on my own time!

These will be the first actual winter tires I have run on a truck, normally either ran my costco A/T's or some M/S tires that had $#!+ for studs and I got around great so I bet these will Kick some Butt! :yahoo:

You will not be disappointed, I'm running the exact same tire, same size, studded and everything on my 91 in the winters. Had zero problems getting around it 2+ ft of snow on the roads in 2wd. Excellent winter tire for a truck.

Whats the metal dots all over your tires? I've never seen anything like that:icon_confused:

Wait is that a joke? Oh arizona. The metal dots are actualy steel/carbide studs put in the tire. They are made to grip Ice like a MotherF**ker and keep me from sliding all over. Tires also have soft rubber and a ton of siping to help too. Heres a picture.

the #15 is whats in my tires (just not blue, Hah)

Yeah thank Ryda, the shop I work at sells these and everyone I talk to has nothing bad to say about them! I almost can't wait for snow to fall (actually I can't cause I need to break out the Snowboard again.) usually i kinda wait till like january to put my tires on...

Oh ok that makes sense. I never knew those existed. In my defense of lived in 3 places, San Diego, Biloxi, and the Phoenix area, none of which get snow:D.

Hah yeah totally see where your coming from, I used to live in new mexico where we got maybe a few inches of snow a year. But yeah up here its a nessesity. all the roads are completely covered in snow and Ice for about 6 -7 months and studs help sooooooooooo much.

with all the snow you get, aren't chains used as well?

Yeah some people use chains too but seeing as chains are a very low speed thing, Basically only the plow trucks use them and not even that many just the ones who don't want to bother with getting winter tires. I use chains when I gotta pull someone out usually.
