has anyone used the sealed beam convert kit and if so how did you like them ? my 87 bii needs both light so i guess it would be a good time i only drove around four months on one light i ride my motorcycle most of the time so i didn't care but now no lights i guess i need to do something:icon_thumby:

What do you mean by "sealed beam convert kit"? The 87 should come with sealed beams. I converted away from them, and I really like the kit I got. It was plug and play, looks good, works well, and the bulbs are easier to replace (not that I've blown one yet, but I did take them out).

Sealed beam headlamps are designed to be discarded when the filament burns out. They are a commodity and as such, the manufacturers put only enough money into the lens and reflector to meet the Department of Transportation (DOT) standard.

Our Hella Conversion Headlamps utilize an optical quality tempered glass lens and a silverized polished aluminum reflector. These features in conjunction with a replaceable bulb give you a package that will provide superbe lighting for the life of your vehicle and beyond.

The replaceable bulb allows you the freedom to easily change wattage, or color, or both and do it seasonally, or even more frequently.

Buy these in the link: http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=354

(without that stupid city ricer light)

are these what you are talking about?

i got these from work, but LMC has them as well. i saw the biggest improvement when i add the headlight wiring harness and relays. i love these, and here in a few weeks i plan on dropping some hyper-white HIDs for even more retina scorching power

^ Those are really nice. What were the ones you got from work? LMC's are about 30 bucks each IIRC

do those oxidize up like those old jap scrap car's yellowed out headlights? if not, i may want to get me some

those are out of a '09 frightliner, but they are damn near the same ones that LMC have, and no they do not yellow, they are an all glass outer with a polished steel focus plate. they are d.o.t reg. and use a DUAL BEAM H4 bulb.

i believe LMC is about the best place to get these for the money, the only reason i got these from work is because i couldnt beat the price of free!!

I run Hella H4 headlamps on my '87 and have been doing so since 1996

I have Carquest TruView H6054TV bulbs in mine, I love them. They are bright, white, and cover a lot more of the road than the regular halegon bulbs that I had before.

THANK you guys thats what i needed going go ahead and get some and thank you for the pics
