Just found this one...Looks like the Ranger Lives

The main advantages of torsion bar suspension are durability, easy adjustability of ride height, and small profile along the width of the vehicle. It provides a longer travel than leaf spring systems, and takes up less of the vehicle's interior volume compared to coil springs. A major disadvantage is that torsion bars, unlike coil springs, usually cannot provide a progressive spring rate, forcing designers to compromise between ride quality and handling ability

Do you have to bold everything you post?

Is this where I fall to my knees and thank you for showing me the error of my ways because I'm a newb and you have more posts than me?

I noticed at the top of this posting menu the option for size, font, color, italic, underline and bold. I chose bold. I like the way it looks. Guess I must have missed the memo that said I couldn't. Thanks though.

Hey man you don't gotta get defensive. He was just asking a question. IMO bold is harder on the eyes to read on here.

[Ah, now that I understand. I don't want to make anything harder on anyone. I apologize. I'll play with fonts instead. :icon_thumby:

Are you like 10 years old?

What is the point of this?

Anyway I like the bold better than the ant scratchings.

People like this are the reason why I'm not a mod. I'd ban every one of them.

Agreed.

Agreed x2. He's acting younger than me and boggin' ever have! And I think were some of the youngest members

Agreedx3.
I think that the ranger needs a redesign. I'm sick of seeing the same thing. Sure there's been moderate changes, but nothing major. Have you seen the (rumored) mustangs for 2009? I'm not a big fan of the front end, I like the current ones and the early styles. Ford needs to do it, but they (I think) have decided to stick to current designs and do the redesign for 2012, but at least they're (supposedly) adding a convertible hard top.But they're sleek as hell. Personally, I feel that the reason why people aren't buying new rangers is because they feel that they can get the same thing from an older model. Its been 11 years already with the same generation and they're just adding one more.

Actually Ranger sales have been skyrocketing lately due to fuel prices, that is why they keep putting off closing the plant. Like the Crown Vic it fills a niche in the market... and with the tooling more than paid for and no obvious plans with the plant after production ends they might as well run production as long for as long as the bubble lasts.

Alright, point taken. Sorry to piss everyone off with the bolds and chicken scratch.

If I can throw in my two cents, I have been watching the news on the new Ranger, but all the photos I've seen show it looking very "Frontier-ish". Anyone else think the body lines are similar?

yea the front grill looks fronteirish (new word), i would like them to sway away from this looks as i think frontiers look kindof Blehh. I think the grill should stop at the top of the bumper not at the bottom of it, and also if they have the middle part ,where it says ranger, to be even with the panel under the lights

i dont know if i like it, but i was just curious to see how it would look

Hm.. the grill looks too small in the second one. Maybe the panel under the lights needs to go down to be even instead of the ranger part.

Last I knew the 3.0 vulcan was taken out of production in December of '07. Everything since has just been inventory. I was looking awhile back, and i would have had to special order one.

I will not get a new ranger with a Cologne engine. Period. The only reason I would get an older one is if it was cheap....really cheap. What can I say, I have worked on them and compared to the 3.0 and limas, I just don't like them.

As to TPMS....Ah yes, one more example of lazy suburban dumb-asses cryng to their government to protect them from their own stupidity. It's a damn shame that this stuff wasn't added as a separate system... Then I wouldn't have to completely cover the dash in electrical tape if I was to buy one.

all the vehicles today are getting more and more plasticy
