its a stupid question but i was just wondering before you actually crank over your car are you supposed to wait for any of the idiot lights to go out like on a diesel you have to wait for a couple lights is that the same in these trucks ex. the abs idiot light

You dont have to. Its not really nessecary.

Unless you have a case of fuel pressure bleed off, just crank it over straight off, wont hurt anything.
