Mid last week my rea tank fuel pump died, so today with a friend to help I set about emptying the back to pull the bed...

I get about 15gal out of the in bed tank and it dies... Crap....
a 40min operation becomming a three hour op was something
I didn't need.....

Anyway finally get the other 25gallons out of the in-bed tank get it out of the bed and the bed off and I'm standing there just taking a general look around... and what do I see? the Large end (axle end) of my Duff Traction bars is split BOTH SIDES!

Digusted I go onto replace the rear tank fuel pump (F-series cannister type)
and that atleast goes smoothly, so I can now actually use the 17gallons of gas that has been entombed therein for most of a week...

But Now I have to fabricate new bars... This SUX...

This last little while just hasn't been good for you has it Allan?

so that means your trip to omaha to work on my truck for free is canceled?

I'd still like to know how I broke them...

I guess I'm not as "nice" to my truck as I thought I was:)

Shit... I'm going to look around tractor supply company for
three point hitch parts, something that ain't gonna break...

But I need to replace the pump in my in-bed tank (a two-stage GM TBI) too.. so off to the junkyard once again...

And I need a new spare pump for my rear tank.
And since I didn't replace the front tank pump I think I'd better locate my spare for that as well.

I had a long spell where only major stuff failed.

Last February I broke the output shaft of my trans
and in June I blew out the front bearing retainer in
my T-case, so if it's gonna be stuff like the traction bars
and fuel pumps I can live with that...

Perhaps you should start working on GM products, I hear people have less problems with them. :icon_twisted:

How do you break an output shaft? Those are the kind of thing that usually just break.
