Just brought my first Ranger!

Hey,
I've just purchases my first Ranger and I came here because I'll be needing a lot of help/advice. I have a 1993 Ranger XLT w/ 5spd transmission and it's got its fair share of problems. I'll have to pull out the carpet and put down a new floor (probably rubber/vinyl; no more carpet!). I also need to replace the seats and fix the headliner(it's sagging). The body seems to be in very nice shape with no known signs of rust. Now for the major problem. The transmission has a major issue shifting into third. You're able to find every single gear but 3rd just isn't there. I'm almost certain I'll have to rebuild the tranny. I'll shift from 1st to 2nd and then shift to third and it just slips. Oh well. It's a project for sure.I hope to have her up and going by December. Do you guys have meets? I'm a member of another board and we have car meets about once a year.

Post your question in the transmission section of the forums, your more likely to get pertinent responses there.

Most of our "meets" are usually small groups of people that live close to each other that all decide to go wheeling some weekend, other than that, "official" meetings seem a bit on the scarce side.

I think it would be cheaper to just replace the tranny with a junk yard special!
