i just bought a new chip last night...its the superchips flashpaq..everything i expected, big power increase :headbang:

Never known anyone with one for anything less than a V8. All the people that I know that tried them with diesels and V8s didn't like em, said it gave em trans shifting problems and such, mainly with their superchips programmer.

Let me know how that thing holds up, if it starts acting weird or anything. I'm anxious to see how good they do for Rangers and such

i got mine from a friend that had it on his fx4 ranger. he had it for a year on his an didnt have any problems but got it for 275, retail 379...as far as shifting problems, yes it does shift harder but u can control how hard it shifts by reducing the pressure that the torque converter pushes.all can be controlled with the programmer itself..shift points can be controlled as well..so far im happy esp. knowin that my friend had it for a year and never had a problem. he just wanted to sell the one i bought then upgrade to a diablo

Ya i know it shifts harder. Supposed to do that, kinda like a shift kit. I like that part. The problem I heard of was after a while it would just randomly start changin the shift points by it self. And a few people had a problem with it causing their trans to slip too.

Hopefully it won't pull that crap on ya.

Diablo makes some really great stuff, he should be happy with that purchase

i hope not either...if it does ive still got plenty of warranty left and my gf dad is the sales manager at the local ford dealership where i bought the truck from

I installed superchips programmer on a 2000 7.3 f-250 at work, it was incredible the difference it made. The truck shifted great. never a single problem. that was driving it to jobs, hauling tools, and a trailer with about 8000 lbs worth of concrete liners for 3 years.

On a sidenote, back to Diablo..

There tuners in my opinion are some of the best.. i had one on my mustang, with the bassaini orx and catback what a huge difference..

yea i would like to get a diablo but for the price that i got the superchip, i couldnt pass it up

I had some problems with a superchip (the one that physically plugged onto the pcm board) sometimes it would go into nuetral, and the PATS system would freak and it wouldn't start. I got rid of that POS and got a programmer. Not one damn second of trouble since then.

They say the chip loses contact with the board and causes those problems. The programmer doesn't attach to the board so it seems to work better with more flexibility.
