I just bought a 1994 Ford Ranger 4x4 5spd. It has a Dana 28 TTB front end and 7.5 rear (open dif). I'm currentlying working on some charging issues in it. I replaced the alternater/battery and it didn't seem to fix it. So today I will be spending my whole trying to figure out what else it could be. It also needs leaf spring shackels, so I'll be replacing those too. Along with some other odds and ends stuff. Any advice would be very helpful right now.

Mods I plan to do are: Stereo, Tires, Alcoas, Limited slip, & portable winch. Nothing too crazy.

Once again any advice, opinions, anything will be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have power to the alternator for the initial kick-off charge?

You can have all the alternator you want, but if it doesn't get that first bit of juice from the battery to get it going it won't charge.

It ended up being the voltage regulater. I put on one from a 97 Explorer that didn't work on it either, however it did test good. :icon_confused:

Now it just needs leaf spring shackles and mounts. Fluids changed. And some decent tires in the rear. Front tires look ok.

The truck came with all the orginal owners manuals.

I also changed the oil and air filter with all Motorcraft.
