they were off of a 1 ton truck. will they still work to lift my truck and eliminate my rear blocks if i remove several leafs from the pack?

1 ton springs will be wayyy to stiff. When guys talk about chevy leafs they mean the 1500 leafs.

just looking for a second opinion or an in depth explanation, ill admit i dont really know anything about leaf springs, and want to know if i could still use the 1 tons if i remove several leaves from the pack, or will it still be way to stiff. should i just get some chevy 1500 leafs, and will they work off of a 88 - 97 suburban 1500? thanks
