I just bought a ScyTek Galaxy 2000RS-2W-1-SP remote starter and i plan to take a weekend and install it myself. I have enough knowledge to do it myself and i was just wondering if there was anything i should be worried about or what might be good to know. I also bought a universal transponder bypass and im not sure if i need it or not. It was only another 10 bucks and i wasnt sure so i got it anyway. Im guessing this has something to do with the coded keys but im not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You may need the bypass module. If your truck has the little red "theft" light on the dash that blinks when the truck is off, you need it. I also have the list of wires that you will need to tap into by color and location also giving what they control. I can scan it in and post it.

I just scanned it anyhow in case you need it.

Thanks alot man that saves me a big hassle of finding the right colors. Have you ever installed a car starter before?

20 or so. There no that hard. Tap splices usually aren't good, but they work fine in there.

Do you have to find wires all over the vehicle or is everything usually in the same general area? Also what do u recommend for splice connectors?

The important connections should be made right at the ignition switch wiring harness. Soldering the remote starter-to-truck wiring connections is recomended.

Ya i was planning on soldering everything in. Do you have a wiring diagram of the steering column so i know where all the wires are?

The locations are listed in the scanned document.
