Junk yard ranger going bigger

nahh drive it like that, those tires are beastly in the mud

theyve served my firehouses brush truck through some real muck since 66(exept like 2 months when they had TSLs on it and sunk it)

I have a set of 14.00 -24 R4's stand about 50 in's tall and 14 in wide

i wish ...still need rims ... kinda broke .... taxes killed me this year :bawling:

I don't understand...why not just use a bigger leaf? I know your not going to be driving it on the street much but those massive blocks are still a huge weak point for mudding around right? Im not into mud bogging or anything but it doesn't seem like that thing could withstand any kind of beating, and thats pretty much all mudding is isn't it?

2 factors play 1) Money is a huge factor 2) they are not block they are solid perch welded to the axle made out of 3/8th steel so week they are not

doin anything for axle wrap? if not those are gonna move all over the place under heavy acceleration.

Just because it's a welded perch doesn't mean that it won't create axle wrap just like a block would. You're going to need some type of ladder bar or something under there...

I have to build them still they are in the works ... ladder bars are a must and they are coming hoping to have the truck 100% 1 week from Saturday I will make sure to take detailed pics when the truck is done

relax guys--if he busts somethin because of axle wrap, he can always get a piece of rail-road track from the train yard, cut 4(edit:8) pieces 12" long each, weld em to the bottom of the frame, then weld the leaf spring mounts to the bottom of the R.R. track spacers-then he won't need the perch blocks (simplified mod. from simpleminded person):icon_hornsup:

For those of you that read entire posts, Thanks for all the comments. :headbang:

For those of you that do not know how to read, I can send you a copy of hooked on phonics because if you read the entire post some where either on page 1 or 2 it says I am putting ladder bars on the truck :thefinger:

To some of us in the truck building world, we can not spend every dime on our trucks even though we would like to. My son and my bills are more important then my truck.
