Good morning everyone. Is there a difference between using a dog point bolt with a fixed washer or just using a regular bolt with a washer for the rear jump seats? I’m wrapping up a car audio project accidentally got rid of my seat bolts when I went to the metal scrap yard. I can only find the exact bolt online but they are 40 for $30 😒

Nope, use the regular nolts. The taper on those is just for ease of locating and starting on the assembly line. Just make sure you use an approprate grade or class of bolt for the application.

I should add that in other locations, especially through thin sheetmetal, the tapered threads are used to expand and form threads in the metal as the bolt is screwed into place. The ones you are looking at don't do that, they have proper threaded structure that they are going into.

I would use regular bolts, with a washer if needed.

mine rusted away....and fell out.

Thank you all for the replies. I have the hardware now. Now I just need to find the size for the two torx bolts. They might have been either T50 or T55, there's only two, the other 8 bolts are the same.
