Josh40601's Build Thread. (D-ranged)

Been a couple of months... The truck is still sitting in its same spot, but not for much longer. Once I get the axle out of the Explorer, D will be coming to Lexington. I have a few things to fix on the 1 ton before i can haul my baby home, but the time is coming, and coming fast.

The plan is still pretty much the same. Decided a 4BT with a 47RH is going to be the power plant/trans. I have a lot of work to do on the truck that doesn't require the engine, so I am going to take care of that while I am building my savings back up from the house. I'll use either 2nd gen dodge motor mounts, or step van mounts. Both axles from the explorer will be going in the ranger, and I am going to redo the radius arms. I'll bring this ol gal home in about a month.

Kristina asks me everyday, "When are you going to stop effing around with all these other projects and finish D??"

She's a keeper... And she loves this truck as much as I do.

Spoke with Rick this week. Decided to buy the axle back for D, and get this build back to the front of the line. I have a couple small things to do on Ex like bumpers, leafs, traction bar

Wish I could get mine back to the front of the line....

which one? You are the one person i know that has more project vehicles than me.

300/400 then 200/300. 14/16 length first, 14/14 length second. I can't really comment on how well it worked, because the binding that was happening. At full droop, it was 34" from the bottom of the fender to the top of the axle

AWWW SNAP SON!! Thanks so much to Rick/SVT. Without his awesomeness, this would not have happened.

Cant wait to see her going again!! D has always been one of my favorite rigs here.

The rotors need to be resurfaced, and the shocks need to be completely redone. The air here pretty much destroyed them, and I have way too much money in them, so i will have them rebuilt.

The interior is in process. The interior will be all dark grey and black. My buddy owns an upholstery shop, so he is doing the headliner and the center console lid.

I hope your going to paint him yellow again with the big black fender flairs.

yessir!! Although not black. Going with dark shadow grey painted all across the bottom just like the black was before. Both front and rear bumpers will be DSG too.
