as of 4 weeks ago some of you seen me post up here i got a job at a pennzoil quick lube. the boss was a dick. i got bitched out about everything i did like twice of how i wash windows, one on the person i am of how im not a loud person, another of i was power washing a room and he told me to get the furnace so i sprayed it and he bitched about hitting an electrical box which then he goes to show me how and sprays open elctrical wires. well with all of that yesterday i was fired for no real reason other then he told me he wanted to hire this new guy that applied and he is shutting down the gas station down the street and is having a guy from over there work so he has to let me go. so i went to pick up my check today and i have 29 bucks taken out for uniforms. i never recived uniforms they were ordered for me and came in the day after i was fired. but i guess i have to pay for the name patches to be put on them. so i bitched him out and he said that was the best he could do. so out of a job which is good and bad no more boss thats a dick but no more money. sorry for the vent

Every time something like that happens to me I make it a point to keep the uniforms and wear them when I'm working on stuff in the shop, so they get filthy. Then I wear them out in public.

Yeah, I usually try to keep a couple of them too. I don't know what Michigan employment law is, but I'd be looking in to hitting this guy with a wrongful termination. It sounds like he needs hit with something (lead pipe, mac truck, dynamite, etc)

by law he has to give you the uniforms to you or reimburse you for what you paid for them and as for getting firing most of the time you can get fired for no reason because you signed a contract that says they don't need a reason to fire you ...

well stripping is kinda out im 5'8 215 and kind hairy lol and for the signing a paper saying i can be fired for any reason i never filled out an app i never filled out any papers for working there i walked in handed my resume and he said i had the job come in the next day. and i would really like to go in and steal the uniforms but the boss is always there. he said it would of costed more but he paid for the 2 week rental fee. and i would deffinatly like to hit him with something.

i had a guy do that to me. so before i left to get a truck to get my box i stashed my uniforms in my box and locked it. i came back and someone tryed to get back in my box. one of my co workers was the bosses step son, i asked him and he told me his step dad did it. i went in and asked him wtf he thought he was doing. i told him i payed for them there for there mine. he threw a soda at me as i was leaveing so i walked in and tipped over his snap on box scattering his tools. wasnt a the professinal thing to do but i can only take so much, espically someone messin with my box

Sounds like my last job. Got a job at a Napa a little farther away from the one closer to my house, 60 hours a week which I was REALLY excited about. I told them I had never worked retail, but sure enough, the guy fired me after only a week. Which I thought was pretty bullshit. Nothing I did pleased the guy... Although I'm pretty sure I got away with all the Napa swag I got LOL.

OTOH, I was actually hired at another store and sent to work at his, which there were only 3 other employees (all full time), my boss, his son, and his friend/the guy who has been there for over 30 years. I'm betting he wanted a buddy as well as an employee.

My sympathies.
