I saw quite a few of these on youtube, and i LOVE aviation and the sound of a jet at full honk just gives me chills, so i was wondering if anyone has ever taken this kinda thing on. I dont want to blow myself to hell, and i have no idea where to start. i have the factory toyota ct26 turbo off my mr2, so i guess itll work. I dont have plans for it other than to sit there and make a bunch of noise ane piss my neighbors off, so thrust isnt and issue. any advice? anyone who lives around knoxville is more than welcome to come check it out and if you want, help or give me guidance. also, if theres a way to make it like, ungodly loud, i wanna hear that too.

I wouldn't worry about it not being loud enough, you'll need ear plugs. It's a sleeve bearing turbo so you will need some kind of lubrication system. Might also be a good idea to have the cooling line functioning to prevent premature meltdown. Oh! don't forget to post the video.

This was a HUGE thing like two years ago I guess. People were making insainly cool contraptions out of turbo's. I have an old turbo off a 270hp diesle at work. Me and the guys are thinking about making one

You will need an oil pump and cooling system. A fuel source, propane is easy, plus flow control for the fuel system. An ignition system, really the easiest part....have fun.

Your in knoxville? WTF Ive been posting inregionals about whos from K-town. Im in knoxville right off cecil. We also have the same truck, 1993 4.0 x-cab

fellnfroggy, i have the 3.0. you familiar with seymour? if so, man come on up and go wheelin with me :icon_thumby: Ive never really noticed a regionals thread, sorry.

also thank you to everybody!!!!!!!!! I cant wait to try this!!!! :yahoo:

evidently there is way more people who have done this than i ever imagined. its gonna be LOUD. my neighbors are gonna hate me. i dont care though.

man after looking on youtube at this stuff it seems like it would be awesome to build one. keep us updated on this project of yours.

Cant wheel yet, I have to work out some 4x4 bugs and get a fourth tire. I have a almost fullsize spare on right now. Unless you know anyone with a set of used 31" BFG's.
