I didn't know where to put this because I don't know which part of my truck is having the problem. I dont know if its even a problem at all I just thought I'd check. First, the specs on my truck:

02 duratec
2wd
5spd
bone stock

so if I'm driving along in any gear and I let my foot off the gas quickly, the truck kinda jerks, and its the same if i'm coasting in any gear and then press the gas pedal firmly, it kinda bucks and jerks. its more pronounced in first gear, like if i accelerate hard and then let off the gas completely.

any ideas?

my 95 did this also, but not anywhere near to this extent

maybe it's slip yoke related??

I'm sure you drive stick just fine, but are you in a higher gear than you should be when you press on the gas? If you're in 5th gear and youre going 35 it's going to jerk when you tap on the gas. What speed and gear are you in when this occurs?

im in the gear that puts me at around 2k-2500 rpms (for cruising). it starts to lug at 1500. regardless, it will happen in higher rpms as well. and its not when I shift it's when I'm cruising in gear.

sounds like a slip yoke issue.

Yeah the maintenence records show that the slip yoke was cleaned and lubed back in 06. i'm thinking it needs attention again. where is the slip yoke located? and in front of the differential where the driveshaft meets the diff, you can see where something's been leaking

well I got it looked at and i guess nothing was wrong, its just the way these trucks drive, and I could have been exagerating the severity of the jerk a little. but while I was there they found that my rear axle seals were leaking so i got that taken care of.

No worries, at least you were rewarded with knowledge about the condition of your truck.

Could be a loose U joint. Mine did that.
