JEEP pull off

If you dont use 4low you will probably roast the shit out of your clutch...

Make a deal with them that its 2 wheel drive only, and unlock the hubs and put yours into 4lo lol.

fords never win tug-o-wars, they got to much power, they just spin the wheels!

on a serious note, its hard on your truck if you're in 4low doing a pull-off haha, i think hes got you beat. But if you really wanna compete, just take it on a trail and throw it in his face if he gets stuck!

And its hard on the clutch in hi range too. Just shove it in low and dont get crazy.

lots of weight in the bed and air down a few pounds like you mentioned. also 4 low and go in a straight line. definately do the brake thing too to make him loose traction first. once he is on kinetic friction and your still on static friction, its all over.

sounds good i lke the idea of me holding the brakes until he looses traction, then pull him down the field. I was planning on doing it in 2wd, putting it in 4wd low just sounds bad. I am also going to put some weight in the bed. FUNNY STORY[B Yeah we went rock crawling once in his HEEP, he did soooooo bad, stalled like 6 times, and snapped his front right shock mount. His hatch still opens and closes though, wich is weird because this kid thinks he is the flexing master and flexes off snowbanks everyday in the school parking lot.
I am going to videotape it but i have to wait intil i get my truck back from the bodyshop (long story) sould be back by the end of this week.
I really hate this kids HEEP!!

Have fun slipping you clutch in hi-range. Low and hi both have negatives, I think low range it the lesser of two evils... I've pulled stuck rigs on pavment before in low with a d28 and wasn't the nicest to it with no problems.

i teid up to a 4.0 wrangler we both had 33s he had bfg at's and i had good year mtr's we did it on dirt and i pulled that jeeps ass no problem! put her in 4 low and give it hell but if you do it in dirt put cardboard over your back window i busted out the jeeps and i was damn lucky mine held up cuz them rocks hit it pretty hard! good luck man!

he may not pull if your brakes are on so use your parking brake, hold it down and keep your hand on the release. if you guys do 2wd then IF you can unlock the hubs and do 2wd LOW then do it. if he has a LS rear and you have a open rear your screwed no matter what.

All the tricks that are being given are nice, but they will not prove anything. If you want to take a challenge just man up and do it straight. I have to say though, like them or hate them, that 4.0 Cherokee is gonna drag that 3.0 Ranger all day.

why would you want to risk your clutch over something dumb.

Why would you do this after you get it back from the bodyshop? And who truck sits higher at the rear bumpers. if you truck is higher the strap will pull down giving you more traction. O deff. use a strap and not a chain.

yah chians snap . . . a strap will give yet they have enough strength . . . good luck

In my opinion it's not the engines, but the tourqe that reaches the ground. If you have smaller tires and better gearing, you may end up with better power to the ground. Now if it were stock to stock, I hate to say it, but the 4.0 would win. But if he's the jack ass you say he is, chances are he may have thrown a lift and tires on it and not have changed the gear ratio. Is your truck mostly stock? I'd almost say just do it. Throw some weight in it, and go. I'd also say you're better off doing it than backing down.

for the sake of argument, I was in a tractor pull this past september, I was one of 3 in the sub 4000# 4x4 class, the other two were Jeeps, one old willys pickup, and a newer wrangler, don't know what was under the hood, same sled, same track, I out pulled the wrangler by a good 30' or more with my 2.3... I think it's mainly the wheelbase and maybe a gearing advantage...
