I have read through some of the things about the swap. Yet I am still haveing trouble with how to do it completely. Im able to get 3 inch cherokee coils for 50 dollars so if its worth it I could use some help please. And yes I am piecing together the other components.

Steering is the main concern.

You cannot allow more lift than what you can compensate for with the steering. If you do, it will be undrivable.

I have a 2 "Drop arm on the way in the mail and im looking for extended arms still but the drop arm should be fine right?

Depends on how much lift he gets out of it. a 2" drop probably wont be enough. You may need a Skyjacker FA600 or a modified SuperRunner kit.

3 inch jeep springs might not lift it much. stock jeep coils actually will lower your truck. but aftermarket springs are usually stiffer so i guess we'll see when u do it.

When I had 3" Rancho Jeep XJ coils, I initially got about 2" lift out of them on my BII. I now have Skyjacker's 6" XJ coils, and they sit at just a hair over 16" loaded, which equates to a hair over 5" of lift. (seems safe to say you'll get 1" less lift than what's claimed for the XJ). ZJ coils can be used also, and would probably about match whatever lift they're rated for.

Like legoms said, it's extremely critical you have your steering geometry set right or it will not be practical to drive on the street at all. A 2" drop pitman arm is only gonna work if you have 2" of lift. Most people typically want at least 3-4" of lift if they're gonna be wheeling serious enough terrain to where they'd need something such as Jeep XJ coils in place of the stiff TTB coils.

You might want to read over this page before you get too deep into buying the wrong parts for your steering
