so just installed the 3in duff lift and did the add a leafs. didn't realize the rear leafs were that worn cause now the back sags 1.5'' lower than the front. is buying a whole new set of leaf springs the only way to go? and if it is, who sells 3'' leaf springs besides duff? the duff ones were like $500. would using the 4'' skyjacker leafs work?

Grab a set of 4 dr Explorer leafs.

The perfect solution to your problem.

or you could just pull yours, take them to a spring shop and have them re-arched.
just a thought.

and Welcome to TRS!
.

Not a bad idea, but probably more costly than explorer springs from a Junkyard, and who really wants to keep their old, tired, crappy leafs? I would question how long they would stay re-arched, and whether or not they would just straight-up break eventually...

If you re-arch and add a spring they won't sag, a shop down here GUARATEE'S there re-arched springs not to sag.

My 1 ton van has been sitting pretty for two years, it was sagging pretty bad, they added a new leaf and give the springs a bend. Rides good and sits nice and high.

I did the same to a pair of newish springs for my 93 ranger, will see how they sit but I'm not worried about them drooping.

I was having the same q's as you were on what to do.

and who is to say that the used jy explorer springs with an unknown history haven't lost at least some, if not most, of their original arch? either new or re-arched springs won't leave any doubts. and any decent spring company will tell you whether your springs can be re-arched or if they are too far gone.

I did a little more research and agree with bennybooster on the lift shackles. not too expensive and will lift it right where i want it until i can afford newer leafs. although i can only find the lift shackles (belltech 6400 shackles) online. anyone know if napa, autozone, oreillys carries them? part number would be awesome too. thanks for the advice gents!
