So I am recently on the market for a good quality lift. I have been saving my money for a few months now and looking for something to spend it on. :icon_rofl:.. I hear a lot about Skyjacker(tweaking and such) but i really don't hear a lot about James duff. Basically I want to know your option or review on the JD 5.5-6 lift. Your know just so I can compare and contrast the 2(JD & SJ). :yahoo: WHEEL ON!

Earlier James duff kits were very sturdy. They are still comparable in strength to the skyjacker kits. Especially the brackets.

People have broken the James Duff extended RA's on the new kits.

Just recently someone broke a tab on a Skyjacker arm though.

The James duff has hiem joints, and dual shocks.

One aspect about the Skyjacker kits I like is that they use a stock style donut bushing.....they last longer and are more easily replaced.

Price wise....they are about the same.

In my opinion they are 6 and half a dozen.

Just recently someone broke a tab on a Skyjacker arm though.

It seems that one was caused by a bolt that came loose, allowing the axle to move around, fatiguing the opposite tab. This could probably crack the ear of ANY radius arm. (thread here)

As for JD, it's good stuff for sure. I would put it 2nd only to SJ. I've seen two JD radius arms broken in such a manner that wouldn't have been caused by loose bolts however. With the above exception, I have yet to see a busted SJ arm, and the ratio of people running SJ stuff vs. JD is probably something like 6:1. (maybe even as high as 10:1).

With this information, Skyjacker will be the way to go. Thank you for your help guys. I am going to be getting the Class II. :icon_hornsup:

You can't go wrong with the SJ arms. I've literally beat on mine - high centered ON the arms and once landed on one arm on a rock-- no problems at all. The only thing I have to complain about them was/is the paint. It was peeling off when I opened the box it came in and now are flaking off more. Mind you , it matches the rest of the truck now !!:icon_rofl:
