its green!!!! and dont know why

I was washing my 2000 at work and sprayed the underside of the cab and blasting off all the salt and ice and I noticed that when i sprayed that cat converter green fluid came runnning down ?????? is there a metel around the cat that would change it ? It looks like antifreeze I have noticed this once before when going in deep snow couldnt find any leak then anybody have any conclusions

if the inside of your truck smells like antifreeze, it could be a leaky heater core and its comeing throught the floor

Are you losing coolant? is the resvoir still full.

no everything is good no overheating problems no antifreeze smell in cab. i just marked my resivor and I will be checking this often

thats what Im hopeing for but nowhere else I sprayed turned that color salt/calciumchloride on some metel on the cat ? its strange thats for sure I will be monitoring the anti freeze . tommrow when its warm Ill pull it inside and put a tray under the cat and throw snow at it and see whats going on

That is really strange but sure sounds like coolant. Where up in the North are you? Warm is one of them relative things, 40 deg up here right now is almost tee shirt weather.

I just brought in m truck left it running grabbed some snow rubbed it on the cat and there was a hint of green (light kool-aid) not as much as yesterday but it was still green (looks exactyl like antifreeze!) so then I thought may as well grab the garden hose and really blast it still same thing only a little hint or green. I may have washed it off yesterday but ? coolant hasnt moved ect. the only hopefull thought is that the road salt must have oxidized the metal on the cats and when hit with water changing it green (i sure hope my assesment in right) I will be giveing my truck a complete engine bay and under cab wash at lunch today; its going to be 36 degrees btw I live/work in superior right next to the big lake to see if i can discover any leaks. I'll keep ya all posted.

I was checking my 99 f150 today, and it needs a y pipe. Has the cats built into it. Hell of a setup. Anyways, took the sheild off to see if i could fix it, and its covered in what i would call lime green. I was wondering the same thing. This was UNDER the heat shield on my rusty cat.

okay I blasted the under side real good yesterday with degreaser ect. I did notice the green but not as much as the other day I did notice some not very much around the muff. also I am really thinking it has to be oxidization/salt/and water mixture I am still keeping an eye on the antifreeze level though. sure is strange

the calcium i use at work is dark green .... so anything is possible...
