It's Getting to hot with no A/C

So my 96 Ranger Xl does not have A/C, and its getting way to hot. There was never any A/C in it, so it does not have a switch inside, but has room under the hood to put in an A/C compressor. Is there any way I could put one in myself, like even from the junkyard or something? Please Help!
