91 Ranger ext cab, 4.0 engine. Battery went dead I hooked a small 10 amp charger to it. Went inside for a drink when I got back the charger was red hot. No smoke or fire but hot enough to. Anyway got a new battery started fine but dos'nt seem to be charging . Is there anything to check besides replacing the alternator? And yes the charger was corrected correctly. Any ideas?
