So after sitting for over a year in the driveway and my picking away at piecing things back together...I finally got it to turn over yesterday after monkeying around with the clutch interlock and the Viper alarm system that I removed...
It fired up after turning over about 3 times...
I was shocked...somewhat. The gas has been in the tank for well over a year...maybe 16 months since I put the last 10 litres or so in...and I was intending to empty that out and put some fresh stuff in...as well as changing the oil...
I only let it run about 20 seconds and shut it down...too many vacuum hoses were off yet (two) and I hadn't hooked up the air box...
Not that it should have surprised me because it was running last year before I pulled it all apart and swapped the 96 dash into my 88 cab...in fact it was really good at starting and I could run the engine to warm up the cab last spring...I acquired the 96 in late 2013 but didn't finish the cab swap until July...
So...anyway...a bit more work to be done before I can let it run longer...
