Well the big day finally has arrived. After I can't remember how many months of tying up all three garage spaces with the B4000 I finally get to set the cab back on the chassis. So since I am sure y'all are tired of hearing me whining about it here it is.

First I had to get the necessary tools ready. Lots of them.

Next we had to get the cab in the air.

Then we had to locate the chassis in the yard.

^^ NOTE: More necessary tools

Rolling in the chassis.

Getting closer.

Getting lined up.

Setting down:

^^ Didn't figure out we had the cab mounts from the rear in the front position until we went to put in the front bolts and had about 2" of space between the core support and frame. Took just a minute to lift the cab a few inches and get the mounts in the right holes.

Ready to bolt down.

All good time for more beer.

Had to bump things around a bit to get the cab to chassis alignment just right but all in all it wasn't too difficult. I do recommend however if you do this to have at least one helper to hold things in alignment while you operate the hoist. I have decided that if anything major needs done on one of these trucks it is easier to remove the cab and bed then work on the engine, transmission or what have you. Well tomorrow is another day and I can start getting everything connected. Hopefully will test start it and maybe take a spin around the yard Saturday or Sunday... But I just remembered this is Holy week and nothing is open so if I need anything I can forget it until Monday.

Thanks for reading through this long post. I hope that someone finds it useful.

Time to celebrate....:icon_cheers:

Looks like he only had the drivers side on.

Lookin good. :icon_thumby:

Thanks for the compliments. I have a ton of pics. Need to start a build thread as it has been a labor of love. I plan to repaint the flairs. Passenger side got damaged when the cab fell off the jack stands a few months back so I removed it to weld up a small crack in it. So the driver's side comes off tomorrow for sanding and painting. My wife thinks I worry too much about the small details on it. But at least she is in a better mood about it now that it looks like a truck again. :yahoo:

Those are the same tools I had to use...
What is it with a naked Ranger chassis and beer...?

What about the #1 plug wire that isn't clipped to the valve cover.
Details...

I thought your truck was silver.

I agree, its easier to pull the cab to do engine and tranny stuff.

SHe's always been red... I have however been helping it along with huge amounts of black paint. One day maybe I'll run out of the stuff.

Boobies.

I really like the chassis paint and all the new looking parts. You will have yourself a nearly new '94 B4000 when you get done. My nearly 2 yrs of ownership experience with the Rat has me happier than I expected. Its a right sized truck. The Rat's overall decrepitude, keeps it from being a good candidate for a resto, however.

Good job!

Moar pics!

You forgot to bring the duct tape, only the second most important tool.
