I've got a little 92 Ranger with a wet floorboard on the driver's side. While trying to pinpoint the location of the leak I noticed that there's standing water down in the vent below the windshield (what's it called anyway?) It obviously has to drain out somewhere but idk where. Can anyone tell me where this drain is please?

I believe you’re talking about the cowl area. There should be a drain hole at the low point. It commonly gets clogged up with miscellaneous crud. When that happens, water builds up and looks for ways into thr cab. If left long enough, it rusts through the firewall. There are some removable covers in the engine compartment that give you limited access to clean that out.

I've pulled front fenders off to clean the cowl drains. I half filled a plastic grocery bag with debris from the 86 I worked on last summer. The previous owner was a knucklehead and parked under a tree.

I try to do mine once a year.
