I noticed there is some other guys here from Rangerpowersports and some guys I haven't seen, so I figured I'd post this here so I can get as much help as I can get...
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey guys, some of you may remember me from this thread:
http://www.rangerpowersports.com/for...d.php?t=220301
I recently bought my house ( can officially screw up MY garage ) and had a little bit of extra cash, and after pricing everything and comparing to buying another car, I've decided to rebuild this engine and squeeze what power I can out of it.
I found a machine shop for my machining needs, and I'm contemplating an over-bore, World Products Heads and some other improvements that can be made. I'm also trying to find out how to beef up the valvetrain like in the "How to Build and Modify your Ford 60° V6" book, but I haven't found anyone to loan me the book yet.
This whole thing is and will be a learning experience for me, and hopefully when I'm done I'll be able to not have to worry about major engine problems that after this will be simple to do.
I pulled the motor myself last week and began teardown yesterday. I did the entire thing myself, and from the looks of it, I've already got past the hard parts.
Pictures of the tear down will be up later this morning.
Also, for those that I've already seen do it over and over again, please refrain from complaining about what engine I am rebuilding. As most from the old thread know, this problem began in December and the truck has been sitting since then. I have had all the time in the world to research the best decision, and aside from the "being different" aspect, this is what I will be doing.
