issues with inserting images

when I click on the insert icon the box displayed should be a drop here
sometimes my computer gets a hair up it's processor and instead of drop here I get a box with a blue link in the corner and http:// in the box.
any idea what's going on?

oh great, the damn thing is working now, but only on this post. I went back to a different post and it still gives me the link issue.

For some reason it's only offering you the option to provide an internet link for an image instead of that and uploading a picture from your computer. Why, I don't have the answer.

I typically just copy/paste an image or use the "attach file" button.

i normally use the attch file button, tried this way just for fun of it- worked for me. On a iphone se at the moment.

Nowhere did i see a place to chiose to have the file embeded fullsize. Nor did i see anynprompt telljng me that the upload had worked. I just hoped... and i dont like not kjowing for sure. I'm going to upload eaxh pic of the process that i used on my Samsung Galaxy S10e in the hope tgat someone can point out something obvious that I'm missing.
