Wanted ISO Camper Shell for 1998 6’

Hey all,

My marketplace and craigslists are currently flooded with “dealer” camper shells priced well over $1k.

I’ve been looking for a tall camper shell to sleep in the bed for a 1998 6’ extended cab (not step side) in Ventura County or a reasonable distance from.

If anyone has one or any advice on finding one easier, I’d greatly appreciate it.

If you were in GA instead of CA I could help you out. I've got a high top here that I don't use. It isn't perfect, but it is a high top and it does fit a short bed Ranger since I had it on my 99. Unfortunately I'm on the opposite coast and not very motivated to get rid of it.

Best adivce I can give is keep searching. Have the same issue with pricing over here. There are some out there, but they are asking nearly new prices for well used shells. Those that are affordable tend to have busted windows or missing doors, and those can be difficult to replace.

Glad to know it's not just me. I know with some effort I could take the $50 or free one that has no windows, struts, paint, etc. and flip it, but what a hassle.

There seem to be a lot up here in Oregon. Facebook marketplace around Salem/Portland. But that would be a long drive.
