since i did a custom lift(suspension) on my truck, i noticed the limited action the upper A arm gives on the 2wd rangers for lifting (98+)

i was watching the other day an EDGE ranger, and seems to me-i havent done measurements- that the upper arm fits the 2wd rangers, is the 4x4 arm bigger? it provides more travel?
can i put them on my truck to lift more by installing taller coil springs?
or they're the same?

thanks guys!
:icon_thumby:

I believe they are not interchangeable....most notably, the ball joints are differently sized. Meaning they won't fit your spindles.

ooh, i assumed they had the same ball joints.
i would need new spindles too, and thats just to xpensive lol
any way to give more clearence working the spindles? i believe ive heard about a spindle lift? :dunno:

yeah....ways to lift a coil spring control arm ranger: spacer/taller coil, spindles, and bodylift. Lift spindles move the brake/wheel mounting point downward, thus creating lift. 3.5" lift spindles are made by a few manufacturers. Sorry, I cannot suggest one brand over another as I havnt the experience or the knowledge. Just make sure your spindles are for a COIL SPRING truck, not an Edge or a torsion bar truck.

fabtech has the upper controll arm u are lookin for. made from tube cromoly with an oversized greasable balljoint that allows 2 inches more wheel travel

thanks guys i just was looking for a home-made solution, like getting the 4x4 upper arms and swapping em to mine, yeah fabtech has those upper arms, and they look awesome and i bet they work really nice, but cant afford it lol.
maybe later, thanks for the input!

proper suspension geometry generally isn't a home-brew possible solution.

yeah i know:annoyed: im gonna leave it like this for now, the ball joint stress isnt that bad so im good
