Trying to flush my coolant right now, first drain i'm guessing it did not empty the heater matrix, as when i filled with plain water, it started mixing green again.

Ran it hot with plan water and hopefully it was enough to hold the thermostat open while it drained and took the heater matrix with it?

Anyway, i saw some coolant on the bank under the heater hoses.

Those two hoses that are Teed in, just go over to the intake manifold. I disconnected them from mine years ago. I live in a cold climate for several months out of the year, and it causes me no problem whatsoever. You could just run new heater hose and not bother with the tees. I put a rubber cap on the barbs on the manifold, just to keep junk out of them now that they are empty.

+1 ^^^

Don't replace with factory "T" hoses, make your own with metal "T"s or delete the "T"s.

As said this is for a pre-heater, NOT part of the engine cooling system, so owners choice to keep it or delete it

Nothing is supposed to leak on a car. The only acceptable fluid loss is water out of the AC drain. So anything is bad if it leaks.

IIRC, the heated intake was only used on 1998 - 2000 3.0's. I think after that the manifold is plastic and non-heated??? Anyhow, never understood why the manifold needed to be heated. Maybe if you live in Alaska or Antarctica. It's cold when the engine is cold anyways. So, you put a Cold Air Intake on, then heat the air up in the manifold? Makes sense to me.:icon_idea: NOT!!!!

So I suppose the hoses off a later model 3.0 wouldn't have the Tee fittings. I know on my Lightning, the heater hoses are fitted with quick disconnect fittings at the firewall. Are the ones on the Ranger's the same?
