Looking at a 1995 2x2 auto 4 banger 142,000. was this a good year for the Ranger? Any issues I should be aware of? And what would a reasonable price range be?Thanks

That's the year Ranger I have with the 4-banger and it's been my best vehicle ever. First motor went well over 300,000 miles and I'm expecting the same out of this one.

If the price is right I'd say go for it. If it's power you want though look elsewhere. What is the guy asking for it if you don't mind?

It is a good year for the Ranger. Most preferably (in my opinion) 1996 & 1997 were the best. As they had the TIB or TTB with the OBDII PCM. A late model 95 may also have the OBDII which makes it easier to trouble shoot engine codes, if they ever happen.

I own a 96 Ranger 2.3 2wd manual tranny. So far, it has the most dependable vehicle in my family of 4 vehicles. Has never let me down and has had no break downs. Just the up keep of basic manitence and tune-ups. It has currently almost 115K miles.

I've got a 95 four banger myself and I couldn't be happier with it. You may want to change the fuel filter if it's never been done before. I changed mine at 110k and the gas that came out of it was brown muck. Mine does have the OBDII, by the way, best way to tell is look for the connector next to the hood release. I paid 1800 for mine, but that was with a brand new tires, clutch and timing belt. You can probably snag it for less. Depending on your area.

Owner has not priced it yet.He said he would treat me right!!!!!!. Yall know what that could mean. I just needed a price range so I would know if (he was treating me right)Thanks

look at blue book values just to get a rough idea. keep in mind, todays market, you should be able to get something a bit cheaper than blue book suggests

Whoa! A 2x2 Ranger?

I'd love to see a two wheeled, two wheel drive motorcycle/ranger hybrid!

That thing must be pretty bad ass!
