Is there any difference between a 1992 2.3??een a 1989 2.3 a

Like the title says is there any difference between the 2.3's that were in rangers from 1989 to 92. I have a 89 and just pickup a 2.3 from a 92 and was wondering. thanks

no difference in the basic long block engine

They should be the exact same. Accessories and stuff mounted in the same place, ect.

And both are roller cams.

where are you located and what are the odds of me getting that tranny from you for 150 or less before shipping? If you follow my stuck in first gear post in transmission sections, im pretty sure im gonna need one and i cant find them anywhere..... If anyone else knows of any of these 92 5 spd (2wd) trannys near florida, im having a b!tch of a time finding them.

the engine itself should be the same, but there are different sensors involved, the '92 should have a MAF, and the '89 won't... oh, and use the '89 O2 sensor, or ground the 4th wire going to the '92 O2 sensor (the 4 wire will plug into the 3 wire plug on the '89, but it won't run good, BTDT)
