I want the better fuel economy that would come with a diesel engine...

Is there any engine that might replace my current 2.5l engine relatively easily?

cummins 4BT

x2. From everything i have looked at, the 4bt looks to have the best payoffs for the work put into them. seriously check out some write-ups on them and know what you are getting yourself into b4 you start picking parts up though, they are a bit more than a peice of cake.:icon_cheers:

Go find you a bread truck with the 4bt and get you a ZF tranny and start reading write ups. from everything I have seen and read that little cummins is the way to go.

i hear the ups postal trucks run 4bt also. and the Canadian postal service does too. i would bet usps also would. probably easier to find a postal truck then a bread truck

a 4bt is still big. An isuzu industrial 4cyl is actually abt the same exact size as a 2.3 or 2.5.

We just pulled one out of our old bob.cat. a little tuning to let it breath and you'd have a small motor that is built to be ran at full throttle it's entire life.
