well this is my first time buying a truck and lifting it befor i always bought jeeps that were alrdy lifted so i was wondering is there a break in period on the lifts...because i got mine outa the shop and 3 hours later i was wheelin it so i was wonderin if thats safe or not? also how much abuse can these rangers take its my first one so i know jeeps can tack a good amount but can these?

Well, after lifts are installed, you should let the suspension move around, flex, etc. etc...then you should re-check all of the bolts and fasteners to make sure that they didn't work their way loose/retighten them if they did. Also just check to make sure everything is still aligned the way it should be, just in case something popped loose.

As for reliability...it goes with any other vehicle..it's all about maintenance. There are some guys whose Rangers have reached 300K+ miles without a rebuild. If you keep your truck properly maintained, it'll last forever.

so i should flex it out on rocky trails to break it in and proly stay outa the mud?

You should drive it normally on the road for 500 miles. Them small vibrations are what works things into place. At the 500 mile mark ensure everything is properly torqued and then do with it as you please. Wheelin too soon when things haven't settled can snap bolts or bend things that would have otherwise been able to be tightened safely.

And honestly, why bother asking after the fact?

LMAO, thats a good one. Since your truck has a 4L in it you should have the 8.8 rear end which is tough. If it has auto hubs switch them to manual and you will be set to hammer on it. Usually the 7.5 rear end is the weak link but you have the 8.8 so I wouldnt worry. I have beat the hell outta my truck for about 3 years and 30k before the sas and only ever broke the rear end(3 times but it was the 7.5", and one hub) before the SAS.
